Akron, OH – The Polymer Industry Cluster is looking forward to welcoming MKV Polymers, Inc., a new subsidiary of Germany-based MKV GmbH Kunststoffgranulate to the Akron-market in January 2026. The family-owned and operated company will bring decades of experience in industrial plastics recycling and polymer compounds, with a commitment to the development and expansion of the circular economy.
“MKV’s decision to establish its first North American presence in Akron is a testament to the strength and collaborative spirit of our regional polymer ecosystem,” said Hans Dorfi, executive director and chief innovation officer of the Polymer Industry Cluster. “Their expertise in plastics recycling and compounding will be instrumental as our partners collectively advance the circular economy, foster innovation, and drive the adoption of sustainable practices across the industry. We are excited for MKV to join us in building a more resilient and environmentally responsible future, and we look forward to officially welcoming them in the new year.”
“We are stoked to become part of the Akron community,” said Markus Lutz, Vice President of MKV Polymers. “We are looking forward to pair our decades of experience in plastics recycling and compounding with great American manufacturing to provide consistent quality products.”
